help with aero ports...

they need to be 26.38" each? thats fairly long. the only way i would be able to fit that is to bend them inside the box.

how would i calculate the length of the bend?

and is there anyway i could shorten up the length? bigger port? etc...

bigger port would make it longer. how much legnth do you have? less port area = less legnth as well as tuning higher

Measure down the center to calculate the bend. More volume and/or less port area will allow you to shorten the ports and keep the same tuning but I don't recommend either in your case. Sounds like you'll be better with a slot port.

my depth is 19", i will bend the aero if i have to, but does it effect the way it works?

like with a slot port theres no problems with a bend in it, but what about with aero's?

You can bend the aero's, but it'll make a slight decrease in performance.

You'll never hear the difference. I've run bends in round ports with success daily but never in an spl install.

im doing an aero box for my 18's right now... i have done tons of research on them and if you can do the aero's right, then you can potentionally add around 3 db's over a slot port... I got a friend who has used lots of aero's and he recommends it over slot ports any day... only bad thing about those is they are expensive.. thats why i made my own //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

dont really know about the bend but i'm going to run a single 8" aero in a 4.5 net box..the only thing that i can think of is to put baffles on the outside of the box like you would do with subs then you wouldnt have to bend them but it would probably look like shit....
