Help With a System

My friend just let me use his system because he is going away he gave me a Hifonics Brutus 1606 amp and 2 12 inch Alpine type Rs 4 ohm and a ported box 4.4cu tuned to about 35 Hz but i hooked it up in my car and it doesn't really sound like the bass is playing right it is doing a lot of rumbling and doesn't sound like bass does any one have any tips that could make it sound better?

Did you wire up the subs correctly? What kind of head unit do you have?

Check and see if you have a clean ground.

We need a bit more information other than the amp, the subs, and the enclosure being used.

What size cabling did you use to install that HiFonics monoblock?

Is your ground sufficient?

What kind of HU do you have?

Is the input sensitivity on the amp set properly according to the preamp output voltage from the headunit?

To what nominal impedence are the subs wired?

The potential list of questions that may very well be a factor in your problem is long and varied...we need more details.

haha except i'm 3.5 hours from nyc, i'm upstate

i got the amp installed at circuit city and and i put the subs in the box myself wit the wiring diagram from this site and the head unit is stock
