Well guys ive decided that for my senior project this last year at highschool im gonna be doing something with car audio. So now ive been thinking and thinking and designing ect... Now im kind of stuck. I know im gonna go with an SDC2.5 Audioque 15 inch subwoofer. Now for my box the dimensions are 17x17x34 inches which gives me around 4.5 cubic feet. Ive never really had any experience building or designing any subwoofer enclosures or actually ive never even owned a subwoofer. But i have really studied hard on it and ive acquired a mentor from a reputable car audio shop that is gonna be helping me. He told me that i should get the information for the port from the manufacturer. Ive noticed that DJ has been on these forums so im hoping he might speak in //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif But if you need to adjust the box dimensions feel free to add or subtract any from the 34 inches. Im not really sure if 40 hrtz or 35 hrtz is better i havent really read about that all i know is i want some nice SPL out of this one 15 inch beast.
Now a question about the sub and amp. The website says that the cubic feet for the 15 inch sub is 4.5 cubic feet, is that for the SDC2.5 version or the HD version or is it for either? And about the AQ1200 amplifier. It says that at 14.4V it puts out 870 watts @ 2 ohms. Now is this RMS,peak power, or what? Will this amp put out the amount of power im looking for to this subwoofer?
