ok, so i have an old school 4 channel sony mobile es amplifier that is 1ohm stable. Now, i have 6 speakers that are all 4ohm, 4 mids and 2 tweeters. What are my wiring options for that amp so that i will not fry it, better yet, what would be the best way to wire these 6 speakers to this amplifier? thanks.

Hey red..i have same problem..i have an old amp that is 2 ohm stable and i have 4 doors and 2 dash speakers..i was like how do you wire that up..here is the answer that i got..wire up 4 doors to 4 channel and dashes to HU...or wire up rear doors to channels like normal and wire up the dashes and front doors together repectively to get a 2 ohm load...i didnt do it yet..it will be done today...what kinda car?? how many watts per channel is that amp?? and what is the rms of your 6 speakers?

the amplifier is a sony mobile ES xm-3546 amplifier, underrated at 35 watts per channel into a 4ohm load. The car is an a 94 infinity g20t, it's got 2 tweeters mounted in the pillars, 2 speakers in the front doors and 2 in the rear deck. As for the speakers, i have not choosen any yet, but i would assume the rms wattage to be around 50-70. Its easy to see what ohm the amp will see with a 2 channel amp, but with 4 channels, if all channels were bridged down to 2 ohms, would that mean the amp would see a total of 2ohms (looking at each bridged channel seperate) or 1ohm (combining the 2 bridged channels that are currently at 2ohms)?

BTW, do you have a grand cherokee?
