help with 2000-5000 watts...

well for daily i will be running @ about 2000 watts, and for competition i will be doing burps @ 5k...

Here's what I was thinking

-1 xs d6500 up front

-1 xs d2700 in the cab

- dc power 250 amp alternator

big three

2 runs of 0 guage power cable

2 runs of 0 guage ground cable

Opinions please, is this enough for 2000-5000 watts???

depends... it will easily handle 2k, but does your league require engine off in the lane?

nope, vehicle can be running while being metered.

You also need another run of 0/1 AWG. You did not mention additional batteries; this you will need too.

For burping you want a good battery bank especially if you are burping 5k...less voltage drop = more deebeez

check out xs powers new "supplemental" batteries for the 2nd trunk battery.

well... i'll try it 2 d3100's for now... measure the voltage drop @ 5k and if it is too much I will add another one.

Have you purchased your 01/ wire? I have used it all...Stinger, Rockford, Knu, etc and still have Knu in two of my rides. I used Trystar 0/2 welding wire. It was surprisingly flexible, pure OFC, custom print on the cable to read whatever you want, and the price was really good. I used 4 runs of pos and 4 run of neg on my suburban running an AQ 3500.1D...will be adding my other AQ 3500.1D when I get my other alternator. Everyone has there favorite wire, but I am really impressed with Trystar.
