Hey need helping finding a single 10" sub for an enclosure that is about .4-.5 ft^3. I have 300 wrms available at 4 ohm or 500 wrms at 2 ohm. Not looking for crazy bass just something that can play those low notes the components up front can't.

Current set up is as follows:

Head unit: Alpine cda-9883

Front stage: Polk momo components

Front amp: Polk pa660.4 bridged to fronts

Rear fill: kicker coaxials off deck power

Sub stage:???

Sub amp: Polk pa880.1

Sub location:

(not my car just an example of where its going)

p.s. I'm just starting to get into car audio now so trying to learn as much as I can so if you don't want to recommend something just let me know what to look for in a sub that will allow it to sound good in a small enclosure and I can do some more research off that.

Id like to spend under $100 if possible but would go up to $150 for the right sub. Also not afraid of buying used if its from a reputable seller. I have about 6 inches of depth to work with back there.

As for the p2 I worked at bestbuy and saw wayyyy too many of those subs have problems to be comfortable with one in my vehicle. I know most were cracked cones due to stupid people pushing on the cone but the same people were doing the same thing to all of the other subs and the rockfords were the only ones that we had to keep constantly replacing.

Not an issue, I guess if you know what causes it then you wouldnt touch it. Why dont you look for some here:

10" Subwoofers, Raw Drivers, 10" Low Frequency Drivers,10 Inch Subwoofers Available at Parts Express!

I've been on there before but I guess my problem is I'm not sure what parameters make for a sub that will play well in a small enclosure. In the past its always been buy a prebuilt box and throw a sub in with an amp that will be able to drive it but now im looking for a better sounding system so I'm trying to find something that will work very well with the space and power I have available.

Ive gotten a couple recommendations for that sub and I hear a lot of good things about the id subs in general. Whats the difference between that sub you linked there and this one here.

IDQ10V2.D4 - Image Dynamics 10" IDQ Dual 4 Ohm Subwoofer

The one problem I have with going with a sub that costs $160-180 is that it will be the most expensive component of my system. Hell it would cost more than BOTH my amps combined. This is a budget build but like I said if I need to spend an extra couple bucks to get the right sub I will.

Also has anyone had an experience from this sub?

Elemental Designs: Car Stereo, Home Speakers, Electronics

Seems to like small boxes. I have the right amount of power to drive it. And its in my budget. Problem is I haven't heard it so whats your guys thought about it?
