Help Wiring Sub

K im almost done with my install just need to wire the sub and connect it to amp..now what kind of wire do I use to connect the voice coils on the sub and im not using a terminal (running it through port) do i use speaker wire? if so what gauge ?? This is what I need to do.. I know the wiring part, but I dont know what kind of wire to use..So if I do this how many different wires do i neeD? plz help rdy to hear it..

12 gauge, coil to coil and then to the amp.

I use 8ga, it's a little excessive...8-12 is good.

ty..so I just split in half and go negative to negative with the (-) wire..then positive to positive with the (+) wire..and then one in the negative with (-) wire..and one in positive with (+) wire..so 2 differents sets of speaker wire total?
