First off, I'll admit I am a somewhat newbie at car audio stuff, I know the basics about most every thing, and have installed head units and amps before. However one thing that I neep help with is the wires from the amp to the sub. Okay time for the specs of the stuff.

My amp is an older style power acoustik gothic series.

It is 520 watts max (125x 2RMS)

It is two channel and bridgeable

It also has high/low/crossovers (don't know what that means)

2 x 125 watts into 4 ohms RMS, 2 x 150 watts into 2 ohms RMS

Now for my subs, much newer.

Rockford Fosgate PL1-212

Woofer Size (inches) 12 x 2

Woofer Material Polypropylene

Enclosure Type Ported

Color Black

Pieces in System 1

Width (inches) 34-1/8

Height (inches) 15-3/8

Depth (inches) 16-1/4

Second Depth (inches) N/A

Connector Type Binding Posts

Frequency Response 20-200 Hz

Power Range (Watts RMS) 50-300

Maximum Wattage 600

Sensitivity 86 dB

Impedance 8 ohms

Parts Warranty 1 Year/Woofers only

Labor Warranty 1 Year/Woofers only

Okay here this goes, where trying to explain it so it may go easier I will make a key.

A-left negative on amp

B-left positive on amp

C-right negative on amp

D-right positive on amp

1-negative on left sub

2-positive on left sub

3-negative on right sub

3-positive on right sub

Any help would be appreciated with this part of wiring, thank you in advance for your time.

I also noticed that the ohms on the subs and the amp don't match up, How bad is that?

Will it fry my amp/subs or does it just make it a lot quieter?

if im thinking right, which i think i am, the subs are wired for 4 ohms in the box. and if im thinking right again, there should be only 1 +/- terminal, so just bridge them up to the power acoustic
No, there are 2 +/- terminals.

No, there are 2 +/- terminals.
okay then, forget what i said about them being wired for 4 ohms.

A-left negative on amp

B-left positive on amp

C-right negative on amp

D-right positive on amp

1-negative on left sub

2-positive on left sub

3-negative on right sub

4-positive on right sub

1 and 3 to A

2 and 4 to D

also if you have a newerish head unit, keep the cross over at full and adjust the high and low pass on the HU.

as long as your amp has a lower stable ohm load then what your putting to it, in your case 8, or 4 ohms, youll be fine.
