HELP! Wiring issues to my amp

I have an old school Rockford Fosgate Punch amp, 8 inch sub and a Pioneer DEH-24UB head unit. I had the amp and sub hooked up in my old car and everything worked fine. I have recently tried to install it in my new car with the new cd player and I can't get the LED light to come on, therefore no power. I am 99% certain the connect issue is not in the remote wire. I am using 6 gauge power wire, but the terminals in the amp are much smaller, possibly 10 or 12. In the old car, I just stripped the wires down thin enough to fit, but that is not working in this car and I don't know what to do. I am literally going crazy trying to figure this out. HELP!

2 ways to for sure test if the remote wire is 100% not the problem. #1 use a digital multi meter when the key is turned over into ACC or on position. #2 take out remote connection from the amp (while not messing with either the power or ground connection the current way it is set up) and run a jumper wire from the power to the remote. a regular peace of speaker wire should work as a jumper. If the amp powers on with the jumper in place but not when the remote is connected to the amp, it is your remote wire.
