HELP. Wiring 2 ohm 4 ohm

hi, i bought a 400 wat mono amp. it says it does 400rms @ 2 ohm and 200 rms @4 ohm. and i bought two subs. the specs for one are dual 250 rms @ 4 ohm. how do i wire it up to get the most power out my amp to the sub?

ohyea and i just want to hook up one. but will hook up 2 if i need to reach a 2 ohm load. thanks! correct me if im wrong but wiring it in parallel using 1 dual 4 ohm sub would be right? so pretty much connect both positives to the positive of hte amp and both negatives to the negative of the amp would reach a 2 ohm load?
