i cant figure this wireless network adapter out. i have a net gear adapter for the pci port. and i installed the driver, then put the adapter in and when i booted the computer the "found new hardware" wizard came up. and i didnt go through the steps in it. but now i need to . and i cant get it to come up again. is there any way i can do this? ive tried taking the adapter out and putting it in. but the wizard wont come up again. all i want is some internet. any help?

Start -> Control Panel -> "System" icon -> click on "Hardware" tab -> Click on "Device Manager -> go to the yellow exclamation point and double click on it. -> Click the Driver tab -> Update driver - then tell it to search in your removable media. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Assuming you have the cd in the drive. Or you can also go to my computer with the cd in, double click the cd-rom icon, and it should have autorun with setup that'll start and follow those steps.

Also, press the windows key + pause/break to bring up system icon rather than control panel

thanks alot, that got it. but now i have one more problem. after i finished the wizard, the computer restarts by itslef now, just after it gets fully booted and everything loaded. any idea?

do you see a flash of a blue screen? Otherwise, right after the BIOS loads start hitting F8 repeatedly until you see a black and white menu. From there select "Disable automatic restart on system failure" and hit enter. See if it blue screens when you start up and write down the stop code (usually comething like 0x0000008e) yadda yadda yadda. You could also go into safe mode and it'll prompt you with a windows that'll ask if you want to go into system restore, hit no to go into system restore and select a date just previous to you installing that driver
