Help w/ wiring configs...

My old hooptie install consisted of a 15" HD3 adn Cadence ZRS-8.....

 

The new one will have 8-12 10/12s havent exactly decided yet.... I wanted to see if u guys could help me w/ the coil configs.....

 

Its gonna be 8 DVC4 subs or 12 SVC4 subs....if u could tell me wht it wires to tht would help out alot.

I have never been into spl, but i don't have anything at all against the people who are. I'm wondering if you could help me understand why anyone would want so many subs in one car. I'm not trying to be a jerk, I really want to know what your motivation is. If you are serious about spl then I imagine there is much cheaper, easier and more practical ways of getting the dbs you want. To me this set up sounds like a waste of money. Help me understand why it isn't.

What do you mean? How many amps are you going to use?

Well which is it going to be? 8 dual 4s or 12 single 4s?? What amp/amps are you going to use? Can't help you with configurations without knowing what load you're trying to get to.

If you had 8 dual 4s and wanted a 1 ohm load you would just wire each sub's dual voice coils in series (creating 8 subs with 8 ohm loads) and then wire all of them in parallel and you have a 1 ohm load.

I wanted to see wht they could be wired to so i could decide upon wht amp(s) i will be running....it will be walled off in my POS beater car, i just want to turn it into a low cost low end moster....

 

And to answer GiJoe's question i already have an SPL car tht i dont daily drive(check my sig) but as far as this setup i want a low end monster....so either 12 10s sealed or 8 12s ported in the 30-32hz range....low cost subs tht will do there job...

Well, you really need to know how many amps you want to use first. Cuz without it we could give you at least 20 different wiring configs for that amount of subs.....

Well im looking to run a single amp to all of the subs....my bad i didnt make tht clear i just wanted to see wht the final load(s) would be if all the subs were wired to one amp.
