ok i have a z1500 and a zx850.4 only using 2 of the channels used dmm to set gains so roughly 1850rms or so, for my electrical i have a stock 130amp alt, gold duralast 1000amp battery upfront, stinger spv70 in the rear with a run of 1/0 for pos and neg, i dont have big 3 done only have one of the grounds just the battery to chassis.

at front battery on full tilt at idle its around 13.2volts, back battery is around 12.5-12.7 and at the amp which is only about a 2ft run if that is around 12volts sometimes dips down into high 11's on the zx1500

why am i seeing such a huge drop from back battery to amp for wiring i have kicker 1/0 ground and knu 1/0 pos from front to back, and to the amps its kicker 1/0, i am getting no dimming either so i dont understand this

basically...bad power transfer between front and back battery, so its a lot like you're running on a single battery with a relatively high current charger

try redoing your connections/making sure its totally solid full contact etc...

it won't tell you much necessarily but try testing the resistance between your front battery and back battery, if its anything but zero (or like .01 or less), then something's wrong, but if it does say zero, that doesn't necessarily mean there's no problem there, because it becomes much more resistive when you're trying to **** a couple hundred amps through it

ok if you dont mind give me some more info on how to exactly test the resistance, with a dmm i am guessing haha

because you **** at wiring and crimping.
yep i guess thats me wow you are very helpfull

Yes with a dmm

and although he's bein a jackass, what he pointed out is likely the problem, I had the same issue once before, only it caused me alot more problems than some voltage drops //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Check your connections. Then if all are sound add more runs of 1/0 wire.
No reason he should need more than a single run of 1/0 for the kind of wattage he's running...if he does..it means something else is wrong, or his amps are running terribly inefficiently

I think you should do your big 3 and see what happens. NO reason to go at it half assed. Wire up your big 3 and retest it.

Wow I didn't even shit on this thread. You are lucky the Steelers won.

you can always try to solder the crimps to be sure. Its at the least a .6volt drop. Seems to me that more runs should be added. Perhaps there is a break in one of your wires?

well its hard to tell the exact drop since the volts are constantly changing during music, but front battery at full tilt is usually around 13volts and back battery is anywhere from 12.5-12.7 so i aint getting a bad drop to the back battery i dont think, but i still think my front battery should be around 13.5 or so and my back battery is fine atm would like to be around 13 volts though

but i dont understand how my voltage is droping from 12.5-12.7 from the battery to around 11.7-12.2 at the amp lowest i have seen it for a split second of course was 11.5

yea for the front which will help the front battery will be when i do the alt to battery pos, and alt to ground will help the front battery which in turn should help the back battery and the amp correct

I dont know if its just me but this website times out on me a whole lot:crap:

I would think so.
