Dont wanna keep spamming that guys thread. Am i wrong:confused:? I want some more knowledgable people to chime in on this.

and here is a very stupid question.. 20a at 125v IS the same as 20a at 12v correct?
Yes 20A is 20A when talking about the wires capability at 12v or 125v.
I wouldnt use hospital 3 pronged connectors, the parts express connectors would be better.
ehh no......20 amps at 125v is ALOT different than at lets say 12.5v. It will be able to handle 200 amps at 12.5 volts.
Your using ohms law top determine the VOLTAGE carrying capability of WIRE...
If what your saying is true....everyone would need 4GA speaker wire...

I know your gonna say this is AC VS DC....but.....the only difference in ohms law between the two is Resistance in DC is resistance and in AC it is Impedance.

Not trying to be an *******, but why is wire rated in current, not voltage?

you could run

10,000 volts at .01 amp through a 22 guage wire.
Im not arguing with you over this, this is simple stuff. If i am wrong and that plug truly can only handle 20 amps at 12 volts than prove it. You even said it...ohms law buddy....its designed for 120 volt and can take 20 amps. 120/12=(10)*20 amps. 200 amps. now explain to me why i am wrong. I like to learn.

Wire is rated in Amperage it is able to carry....not voltage....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/violent.gif.ccf64f7a34b20886d220db2fbff36f3b.gif

Look at house wiring....

Why is 110V the same size as 220?

let me throw a wrench in your theory.....

How is house wire rated in wattage?

A wires voltage rating comes from the thickness of the insullation to contain the voltage, not the wire.

Wire is Rated in amperage.

Think of it as water....

Current -Big Pipe/Bigger Wire = Current Flow

Voltage- Water Pressure- it doesnt need a certain size pipe to flow, it only needs a Thicker pipe or more insulation to contain it.
