Hey guys,
I finally got everything hooked up this past weekend and overall it sounds great. I had a faint white noise, hiss, static through my speakers that I tried to figure out last night and I just want some clarification on what I'm seeing.
I have Pioneer deh-7500 something head unit running to a Powerbass 700.5x 5 channel amp. The front RCA outputs on my head unit Power channel 1 and 2 which are my front dash speakers. Rear output are channels 3 &4 for my front door speakers. Channel 5 is the sub. I have the Knukonceptz Kolosus 4 gauge Power Wire and ground hooked up, ran brand new 16 gauge Speaker Wire from amp to speakers. I have the RCA cable that came with the wiring kit running the rca out for the sub, and bought knukonceptz 4 channel shielded RCA for the other 4 channels. power cable is ran down the drivers side, all of rca cables ran down the passenger side.
If I disconnect everything from the head unit except the front channel rca output, leave everything connected in the amp I can hear faint, distorted music out of the door speakers. If I use a the rca I had for the sub into the front channel output, leave the rear input plugged into the amp of the shielded rca I can hear music. If I disconnect the rca input from the amp, no music and no white noise/hiss/static. If I leave everything plugged into the amp, and swap the front channel input for a separate rca input plugged into my phone, music is clear and quiet. if I disconnect the rear channel inputs from the amp everything is clean and clear. If I disconnect the front input I have static, but not as much. Seems like the one pair inside that set may be the issue. I didn't swap them around, but may try later.
No alternator whine, hiss is present with Car running or Car off. No other noise. Adjusting the gains down helps a little, but doesn't stop it.
Seems to me that my "shielded" rca are picking up the signal and putting it into my amp to play. Would new separate shielded pairs help with this? Any other thoughts?
Thanks!
