hey. i have a problom, and i think i know how to fix it but i dont know what its called. my problom is whenever i adjust my bass volume on my alpine hu it increases the bass for my subs as well as my speakers. after a while they didnt hold up and my door speakers blew. i dont want to add another amp because im short on money. also on my hu theres a volume adjustment that says SUBWOOFER. i tried adjusting it but nothing happens. the only thing that will turn the bass up is the BASS control and it turns the bass up for all the speakers. i think they sell somthing that goes inline with your speaker wire and cuts cerein bass frequencys out is this true. what i would like to do is just figure out my hu bass controls thanks

I have an alpine HU the sub does something noticable, you should probably turn off the BBE but that will effect the sub aswell..

but I say give it a try with the BBE off.

When I turn up the bass too it also does the same thing everything in the car gets some more bass.. but the subwoofer setting works too, do you have your RCA cables in right for the amp?

my alpine head unit does similar things. I have like the 2nd to lowest H/U they put out though a year ago. But i had a subwoofer control on my H/U that went to i believe +15 and it made a noticable difference. My bass adjustment on my headunit also made a difference on my subs as well as my speakers(of course), but the bass adjustment did not have as much as an effect on the bass as the subwoofer control on my H/U though. I only had one set of RCA outputs , not 3 pairs for RCAs for amps for my door speakers.

I kept my bass adjustment at like +2 and my Subwoofer adjustment at +15. I had no trouble.

I think what you are trying to say is a bass blocker,

I could be wrong

My head unit also had crossovers too. For treble and bass. So i would imagine your H/U has that feature if my crappy one has it. I would try working with that first, what kind of H/U do you have (link)
