Ok I have a Rockford fosgate p3slim and I bought it with the enclousure and i have a phenox gold titanium 400 watt amp wired with a kicker 8awg amp kit along with a rf 1 farad cap..now when I first installed it it sounded nice it was loud but not like extremely loud..about a week after I put it in I got another p3slim and another phenox gold 1000watt amp..i don't kno why but I was compelled to switch subs and amp jus to see what it would sound like..now afterthat was done and I swithced everything back to normal it sounded fine that night but the next day the sound quality has decreased and has continued to do so..so I took the sub out thinking it was the problem and sent it in I jus got it yesterday and installed it and it sounds the same..the sound that I'm hearing is like a distorting and it's clipping..on the amp I had the gain turned up about 75% and it sounded fine but now it's like at 50% and it clips..any ideas??

I bolded your problem //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Could be alot of things.... Sounds like amp is the problem if you sent the sub in to be fixed and it came back sounding like that.

Try a different amp and see what it does! make sure they are wired correctly, and not over powered.

Well what sub would you reccomend?it has to be shallow and I will be adding multiple...I have 3 12's that I'm planning on putting in along with the fosgate 1000bd and I jus installed a optima yellow top battery and getting 4awg RF amp kit..(if you haven't noticed I'm a fan of fosgate)..I heard I can go wit 2 10" full size p3's..I have a 94 toyota pickup so it's a really small space

The sub isnt a problem, people here just arent fans of fosgate for certain reasons mostly sound and quality. If you love fosgate then so be it....Try a new amp for starters i think thats your problem.
