Help! Some installation questions! remote on, battery wiring

Okay started on my install this evening, and just got a few first time questions that i hope i can get answered.

First question is kind of dumb just want some verification. I have two amps, a 4 ch amp and a mono sub amp. Can both remote turn on leads be ran into the one remote turn on wire on the headunit? my father seems to say no, but i dont see why not??

Also, wiring up my second battery seems like its gona be pretty **** expensive heh. I know i need to run power to it from my startup battery, but for grounding the battery, does it have to run to the startup battery as well? or can i ground elsewhere? its about a 18-20ft run from battery to battery, and i dont really wanna buy 40ft of 0 guage.

Remote is fine to do it the way you said.

is there a benefit from going negative to negative as well? i dont really understand, because wont it give the same effect if i ground elsewhere? im asking because i will have to buy another 20' of wire to ground back to battery
