help setting up ARC 5150

I consider myself a novice so I may need help with this new ARC 5150 5 channel I have just gotten.

I have this in my system.

ALpine 7995 deck

Diamond AUdio 6.5 components in rear of my 300ZX. I know I need to use them in front but they may be to deep for the door panel. I needed a quick solution to get some sound off te amp and I had no speakers in the rear locations so I put them there.

I am going to use SOundstream 2ohm SPL 6.5 coaxials in the front doors.

I guess I will set them all at high pass and use the Kicker sub in the trunk for the lows.

How exactly I should set them is the mystery. Like I said, I never has such nice amp and the sub is the first one I have ever used in my cars.

pointers greatly appreciated.

thanks

mike

Please do yourself a favor and get some higher quality speakers up front- i mean components

If you like Diamond, the D6's come in 'coaxial' style mounting option so that you can squeze them into factory location.

Or simply as most people do, build your own bridge for the tweeter over the mid using an aluminum strap found at home depot- its quite simple I assure you..

For the present moment, you are not going to enjoy the bandpass capabilities of the 5150...a sweet amp for an all in one 3way active setup.

Just use a HP on the coaxes of like 80-100 hz up on front chs

Same on the Hexs on Rear chs

LP your sub at 80hz on sub channel

Flip around and listen to see if you prefer the 12db or 24db slopes best

Good luck

thanks I will try your advice. yes the front speakers are not the best . but for now they will work till I upgrade them
Its no so much that the front speakers are not good enough, is that you are using the better speakers, separates at that, behind you...

Good luck-enjoy your tunes
