Help running 4 speakers on a 2 channel amp!

I'm running 2 front alpine speakers and 2 rear alpine speakers to a 2 channel kenwood amp and I get sound out of all the speakers but for some odd reason I can't hear certain sounds out of songs(example: snares switching between left and right speakers). All my positive and negative wires are hooked up correctly. I don't know if I need a crossover of some sort and if I do which kind because I'm not too familiar with how they work.

Thanks

Sounds to me like you're running mono.

What head unit do you have?

Are you running both RCAs (red and white) from the front to the back of the amp?

Check that they're balanced properly by using the balance feature on the head unit. Then double check the polarity of each speaker. If you have one or more speaker out of phase you can very easily kill the midrange frequency response in the vehicle and from what you've shared, I'm not sure if you mean you can't hear the left to right transition or you simply don't hear certain instruments at all.

Honestly I don't think it would be hard for them to make it where you use android auto AND your own music source. They made it able to do so...

Agreed with this here. Since you have the unit pulled out of the car/dash...test it at your car battery directly for operation. very simple to do...
