Help running 0 gauge!

You should be able to get an actual grommet somewhere on the cheapz. Or use a bit of split wire loom. Silicone around the edge of the hole could work, or even electrical tape(attached to the firewall, not the wire). I wouldn't recommend using the electrical tape, but as long as you aren't moving the wire around much, and assuming it's not bouncing all around, it should be fine with any one of those options.

Some people don't even use grommets.

Hmm, so I could actually be super safe, I could put the wire in a loom, tape the loom, then silicone the hole when I put in the cable? I have a fear of cutting wires so I am trying to ease my mind.

Well that is the thing, I am in the middle of the installation... should have preplanned this, but this is the only opportunity for me to install for a few weeks, I may just pay a local stereo shop the $20 and let him just run it through the firewall and secure it and such, that way I can do the rest. I will be ordering those grommets for future use though.

Yeah, since you're already installing, don't worry about getting grommets. Just get a small piece of wire loom(cut it to a size that's similar to what a grommet would be), tape the loom itself shut, silicone it to the firewall, then run the wire through that.

I don't use grommets because there isn't a convenient place to drill through the firewall on my pathfinder. Instead, I took off a piece of metal that exposed a large hole and ran my wire through that. To prevent cutting I just put some electrical tape around the edges of the hole to take away any sharpness...kinda ghetto, yeah, but it works lol.
