Hey guys.....I've done several big sub recones it the past....but i can NEVER get the dustcap glue to look clean to save my life. I was wondering if anyone in Tampa could help meout sometime next week or so with reconing my TRF. I could throw you a little bit of cash for your time, i just dont have much $ to spend after this recone....

i tried PMing robin but his inbox is full //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

who can rise to the occassion and help a brother out??

Use AMAZING GOOP glue. a thin-ish bead around the rim of the cap, press it down, then in a minute or two when it gets rubbery but before it sets up, excess can easily be scraped off with your fingernail and rubbing with your fingers like rolling up a booger.

ill look into that

if i use that stuff mentioned earlier that only needs some small beads then i think i'll be okay reconing it myself....

next questions....whats the easiest way to clean the landings? i wish i could find some kind of sander adapter for my drill...

4" angle grinder with a high grit flap disc is the easiest

and THAT is more or less what i was hoping to hear.....you're just full of awesome arent you lol.....

is that something that can be connected to a drill or do i need a new piece of hardware for that?

I got a drilled mounted 4.5 inch angled flat disc grinder package from Lowes for like $8. It did wonders on the surround landing tonight, I'm sure the spider landing will go smoothly too. My biggest concern was the time needed to clean those landings....the other 2 big sub recones i've done I sanded them down BY HAND //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif I feel fine doign the rest myself and saving some $$. I'm told the 5min 2-part epoxies should should do the trick for the surround and spider, and those are fairly cheap too.

FLstrongman is making me a TRF recone will all stock parts, plus beefier tensile leads. I'll be doing a recone log wih plenty of cool photos in the coming week two.
