help re se 10 or 12w7

i would love 2 15s but im kinda limited to space i have a truck so yeah i herd if i get 2 dd 3500 it will be louder than 3 re se 10 do you guys agree
DD would be better than the REs or the JLs IMO. However; if you're trying not to spend an arm and a leg, go with the REs. You can pay $800 for the 2 DDs or spend $450 for the 3 REs and you'll be happy with them. You will need more power tho cause I have a single SE12 and I run 750ish to it daily and it eats it up. I'm just not a big fan of JL myself. I think they're HIGHLY over rated for the price they cost you. They get petty loud and yes I've heard them in a few set ups (some good and some bad) and they just didn't do it for me. Again, this is just my opinion. You'll have to decide this one on your own.

Adding another W7 to make 2 12" W7's on 1krms shared would probably be the msot cost effective option. They are good woofers. And to power the Se's well, you'd need more power. Thus making the better option SR's which are vastly outclassed by the W7's. The 3500's get loud but once again, you would need alot more power. As of now I would add the second W7 or look into DD 2500's. DD's should be ported. The W7 can be sealed or ported with a higher success rate.

I say screw the JL I have yet to have a JL sytem beat anything I had in sql and thats what you want deep bass fking loud as shit. JL more sq less spl. DD is more spl less deep bass. DD loves the 40-45hz range I know I am a dealer and had 4 9515s on 5400rms to each one daily and pulled it all out and changed subs for more bass down deeper. Depending on how much money you want to spend is what you look at. 3500 dds on a single 1000rms amps not even worth buying. I did 2 3512s on a single Z1 amp and they loved it.... thats 5400rms bench tested power so 1000rms isn't going to do crap.... the JL sure 2 of them on 2000rms would be a little louder then 3 10" SE subs on 1800rms but you again using 1000rms so find what is the best and most eff sub or subs that use 1000rms. I think you should look at the Atomic subs and do 2 Manhattan 12s. THey will take that 1000rms all day and night. They are great output sub and have great sq. Atomic made the IDMAX subs everyone loves so much for sq (back when ID was all usa made) If not look into DC Labs. If you want the Atomic hit me up for a killer deal! Also Atomic has a very nice 3 year warr even if you blow the sub up(burnt coils are covered!) unlike DD who has no warr if coil burns up. Now that I think about it I dont know if anyone will cover a coil other then Atomic.

hey guys well thanks for all the input i think im gonna end up going with the 2 12w7 and get a second 1000/1 amp or another one with a lil more power after i get bored of the one amp ....... if i really am not satisfied with how it sounds im gonna switch it all and get the 2 dd 3500 and a diffrent amp but thanks for all the good input

you could easily sell the 1000/1 and buy a 2500 watt amp to bang the 12s with.. then sell the 12s and buy 3 10" BLs/Qs/Icons/LVL4xls/anythingelse.
Absolutely the smartest way to go about things...Sounds like an easy decision to me...The question is, what do you (thread poster) value more: a name, and a few cool features, or 1500 watts more power (and likely money in your pocket)? I personally would invest in one or two quality, high power-handling 10's, but that's because I like the surprised reaction when people find out it's 1 or 2 10's in a trunk rather than 15's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif At least that's how it is in my area, where 1500wrms+ is hard to come by lol

Oops, off topic. Like I quoted him saying, sell the W7 and 1000/1, because they both have high resale value (possibly just in correlation with the original high price). Then invest in more power and some 10's. If your car can't handle it, you should have plenty of leftover $$$ to take care of that.

And should you decide to get an SE 10, please dear God don't put it in the manufacturer recommended enclosure. I'm guessing you already know that, but seriously...my friend has one in a 1.5cf vented box, and it sounds like horse manure. I can't say I have all that much experience with subs, but my other friends' Treo 10's (forget the model, but they are around 300wrms and one of the lower end models) kill the RE in SQ and almost match it in SPL...I can tell the RE has potential, though.

Good luck on the search! The money you could save by selling the JL products can go a long way!
