help quick please!

Just got my 250amp alternator with big 3 upgrade to 0ga done. I noticed that when I shut the truck off I can hear the battery making kinda a fizzing sound...... battery doesn't feel hot but I can hear it coming from the lil foam holes on top of my red top optima.... should it be doing this?

i don't think you should be hearing anything.

Maybe you got a dud battery. leaking not 100% sealed.

should it be "venting" what does that mean exactly lol sorry I am lacking knowledge on all this stuff. Thats why I had it all done for me lol

venting is not good. battery is cooking... how serious it is depends but venting isnt good

I just had the shop test everything and they said its not overcharging and all the volts are showing up perfect. They even put a huge load on it and then the battery didn't make the noise afterwards so I dunno what the deal was.

are u sure it isn't just something in the engine area thats cooling down?

ya it was definately coming from the foam holes on the battery but it was after I had been testing/tuning all my stereo and stuff... I dunno I'll keep an eye on it. I gotta get a fuse yet for my alt to positive battery wire too.

as long as your voltage/amperage levels from the battery remain reasonably constant, you should be fine.
