you crack me up.....in a ideal world, yes you would want more power on tap than u can draw.

and i agree with the second battery suggestion, the bats will pick up any extra current needs.

I shopped around quite a bit...nobody can make a bigger alt. for my car...

Regardless guys... I have ran this same equip. in 3 different cars now... NEVER upgraded my alt in ANY of them except this one. Never had dimming the way I am now... And yes, I DID hold the RPM at about 2K RPM and the car like almost died because it was getting drained so bad...

This is why NONE of this makes any sence to me. The Block ground was done, I just didnt see it. SO, the Big 3is done.

Battery is an Audio Force (couldnt find specs) BUT when I bought it, the dealer showed me the book on it, and specs just said 1000CCA, Deep Cycle....Good enough for me..

Again, I have ran this system off of a stock 75A alt. w/ yellowtop under the hood and didnt have problems. Battery reads 14.2 at idle, so that tells me the batt is good. 12.9 out of the car

And again as mentioned earlier, BEFORE THE UPGRADE it worked better.. I'm just reallly pissed that I spent all this money, and after sitting on the couch for 2 weeks recoverying from surgery, I come back to this crap... Brought my car back to the shop, told them to do an ALT test, AND call the people across the street who rebuild the ALT so they could see the test... won't havemy car for another 4 days now

That Audio Force 550 is not a 1000 amp battery.. I read a lil bit on it any the recommend them as Rear 2nd battery...

Also you might want to take that Car to a shop and have them load test that thing..

still have my stock alt and i sit @ 12.2 during and after each bassboxing run.

As far as the audioforce goes... it is recommended to be a second battery, but its NOT a static battery, and it IS deep cycle... Also all Kinetics are RECOMMENDED to be used as 2nd batteries, but they can ALL be used for a main battery.... and as I said, its still testing properly before I put the load on it.

Did you load test it, or just put a DMM on it? A battery might show a good voltage with a DMM but not operate correctly when under load.

First thing I would do is have both the alt and battery properly tested to verify both are in proper working order.

I just used a DMM... But when I cranked the stereo...the car literally almost died. So I guess I just need to know how to tell which one is failing...which is why I brought it back to the shop that installed the Batt. I just dont get how the issue got worse.
