Pleaseee helpppppppppppppp!!!!!!!!! Alright, im so pissed right now, just spend about 600 bucks to get a new alt, new batt, and CHANGED MY BATT. CABLE TERMINALS.... and my car dims even worse now somehow!!! WTF!?!#?#$

Just got my alternator upgraded to 180AMPS. Bought a new deep cycle battery. Did the big 2/3 (didnt do block to GND yet... shop was supposed to do it) but the other 2 are done (alt>Bat, and Bat>GND, ALL 0GA.)

Here were my test results

Test 1: Car on, all electrical off

Test 2: Car on, all electrical on, radio on pause

Test 3: Car on, all electrical on, radio on half way

How its hooked up:

The wire from the alt+ to Bat+ is a little long, but i have a hard time believe that will make much of a difference...

point is.... when I crank the radio now...the lights dim WORSE than they did before I did these upgrades!!! What the heck should I do??!! And now if I return my battery and get a new one, i'd have to pay to get the cable terminals switched back..

someone PLEASE help me...this is soooo frusterating... Got all this work done the 2 weeks i've been out for surgery..today is the first time I have got in my car since then...hoping to get in a car thats a LITTLE louder, and no more dimming....and this is the sht. i get

did you crank your system while the vehicle is sitting in your driveway just idling? Reason i say that is because ALOT of h.o. alts hardly make anything at idle......they need to see a certain RPM before the juice starts to roll. Which could explain how a stock alt can actually have less dimming at idle.

yup..ive heard of that...

wtf!? you got a 180a alt for 3000+ watts? no shit you got dimming! its probably not worse you just think it is. upgrade that chassis to block and see if that helps. otherwise, get a way bigger alt.

oh really....a 180 amp alt is fine for 3000 watts, christ almighty i ran 2000+ off a stock 85 amp alt with the big 3 and a yellow top with no dimming

wtf, are you jesus? how in gods name is a 180a alt fine for 3000+ watts? chances are his stock was 105 , so thats like 75 extra amps. thats not nearly enough for that monster of an amp...not to mention he has another amp too...
