Help Please...Frying Coils on SPG-555

you have to really be doing something wrong to blow that sub. it isn't easy to blow those. you will smell it a little in a ported box for a while. a little smell isn't bad, smoke is.
never saw any smoke even when it blew. but i know im not overpowering the sub i justdont know where the distortion is coming from and wouldnt the electrical problem just send less power not distorted?

low power could cause some distortion. it's more harmful to the amp than the sub. what size is the box you have it in?

Lack of power causes the amp to work harder to produce power. The lower the voltage drops the more it takes for the amp to produce the same power. If you can't keep the power consistant then the signal becomes degraded or clipped.

Turning the gain down will save your sub for sure.Upgrade your power wire and maybe add another battery or get abigger one then what you have currently.

as i mentioned before its the boston gtuned box made for the sub...not sure on the size but its kinda big.
might be a pointless question anyway, but a box that's too big can be hard on your sub. you'd be able to hear it bottom out or unload though. probably not your problem, but i've blown subs before in boxes that are too large.

still need help with this problem. and no my box isn't too big...its made for the sub

Can you grab some pics (or even better, video) of the system, or perhaps playing? I have a funny feeling there's something simple that we're all overlooking if you're burning coils that easy

yeah im burning them very very easy. like they replaced my coil...the guy at the shop even listened to my setup and he said the gains fine its all clean power. that night i was playing a heavy bass song and i smelt the coil. so i turned it down and kept it easy for a week then played another heavy bass song and same thing...smelt the coil like a ****er. took it out and sure as shit its black.

i know its not too much power and idk where the distortion could be coming from.

and i can get a vid up as soon as a fix my grounds and put a new coil in. for some reason now the sub wont hit hard at all. think this could be cuz of the coil or my grounds? cuz my grounds r ****ed up and make the sub hit when its not even on and makes whining out my speakers.

i need help badly. im sooo sick of not having my baby bumpin.
