werid noise from sub

My sub doesn't do it all the time but some times you can hear a very quite noise coming from my sub when i have no music playing. It almost sounds like scratching.

Any ideas?

do you have the gain and bass boost all the way up?????? that may be it... check ur sub just to make sure...

No i dont have my gain all the way up. And i dont use bass boost nor does my amp have it.

mine was doing this except mine sounded like a very faint airplane. but eventually started whining out my speakers.

its most likely ur ground. make sure its in a good spot, free of paint, and free of corrosion
