Ok Guys ...

I've never had this hard of a time trying to decide which amp I need to power a particular set of speakers ... I think that I'm beginning to know too much that I keep thinking "well why not this amp ... then, well why not this amp" ... I'm driving myself nuts here //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The CDT's and amp will be ran from an Alpine CDA-9885 ...

The CDT Components are as follows ...

A set of M6's with the ES-01 Tweets and 560i crossovers ... and

A set of EF-61CF's with the TW-25 Tweets and 560i crossovers ...

This is going in a classic car restoration and I'm mainly looking for LOUD, CRISP, CLEAN sounds ... (May add a single 10 or 12" sub down the road with a small mono amp) ...

So please help me in determining the right amp for the job ... It would be great to have 150x4 RMS 4-ohm watts because these CDTs love watts and they are recommended to handle approx. 150 RMS 4-ohm watts each ...

I'll consider different price ranges ...

Thanks,

TIM

Any of these will provide you plenty of power so take your pick based on price, looks and size for what you need.IMO

Cadence TXA-6004, Alpine PDX-4.150, Diamond Audio D9800.4, D6600.4, Polk C400.4, Zapco Ref 1000.4, Ref DC 1000.4, C2K-4.0x, I-4100, ARC FD4150, SE4200 or one the new KS series, Focal 4.75, JL 450/4, JBL PX300.4, Kicker SX700.4, SX900.4, ZX650.4, ZX850.4, MBQ PAB4100, McIntosh MCC404M, MCC404, Memphis MCA3004, MCA5004, USAMPS MD-43, MD-42, AXTU-4360, Audison VRX 4.300.2 and check out the new LRx series to.

Then you can get into OS stuff also. I just listed models that are readily avaliable on the market and I am sure I missed a few.

Don't get to wrapped around the axle on needing 150w x 4.IMO Even if you are running to sets of comps front and rear 100w x 4 should even get the job done. Not sure why you are running 2 sets of comps front and rear but its personal preference.

I have the HDM6 and had a ARC FD4150 at 80w x 4 had plenty of power running it. I am a power ***** though and have ran 360w each on them not really thats with the gains turned way down. If you model them up IB they will reach full excursion long before they will take a full 150w and 125w will drive them to their max limits. Those ES-01 are not going to handle 150w but for a short period. They will run great of 50w to 75w.IMO IIRC the ES-01 is basically a varitation of the Vifa D26NC55.

Thanks Guys ...

The Cadence amp looks great for the price ... but I'm afraid I'll lose sound quality ...

The Alpine PDX-4.150 seems like a great choice ... I can't believe they can pack so much power into that small footprint ... kind of like the old school fosgate punch amps that I'm using in another project ...

Can you adjust the PDX in the form of a HP/LP type crossover setup? I'd like to be able to taylor both the front and rear to my hearing pleasure ...

Thanks again guys,

TIM

This is a no brainer http://www.cdtaudio.com/sq_amplifiers.htm

CDT SQA-4140 is a four channel dually bridgeable amp and provides a continuous maximum of 140 Watts per channel from each of 4 channels into 2 Ohms. CDT SQA-4140 will also provide a continuous maximum of 280 Watts bridged from each of two pairs of channels into 4 Ohms.

Power is waht you were looking for and built by a CA legend.

Are these made by ZED ... this appears to be alot like the Zed Audio Draconia ...

I'd only see approx. 100 true RMS watts per the 4 channles, but it would definitely be clear ...

I'd consider various price ranges ... but $300 to $400 would be great ... if not, I'll splurg ...

What would be the max your looking at price range?
Brax, audison, focal, tru all have very nice end clean (very sexy looking) amps.
