Help picking sub to replace Type X

I had it in 2.1 cu ft box tuned to 34 hz. The sq was not that great. Spl was good. I want to stay with ported, sealed just does not get loud enough for me. If I tuned the portex box down to say 30hz for the Type X would that make a difference? Compare and contrast type X to w7's? And 10w7 to 12w7?

I am just going to throw this out there. No matter how good your sub and amp is if you don't tune it right it will not sound good. I am willing to bet you have a very peaky response and this is most likely due to improper eq, crossover, and bass boost settings

had my x's tuned to ~27 hz or so...give or take...really enjoyed them. you be wasting money on the jl's. Just get another x to go with that x you sold...

just from what i c the only thing wrong here is a poorly designed box for this sub type x's are very nice subs and i believe u would be happy with a new box with different airspace and tuning just play around with some different setups it would be a lot cheaper than a w7 IMO
