Help picking sub to replace Type X

I just sold a type x 12 Alpine sub that I was sending 750 watts. I had it ported but was not happy with the SQ. I am going to buy a JL W7. I am trying to decide between the 12w7 or the 10w7. I do not want to lose any SPL compared to the type x. I want slightly better SQ than the Type X. I will be running ported with 750 watts clean rms power. What do you think?

What kind of fail box did you have the X in that dissapointed you?

I mean you won't be dissapointed with a w7, but why are you unhappy with an X?

IMO the Type X is a good sounding woofer. Out of the subs I've had I would recommend either a IDMax or the older SI Mag. Both of which sound better and are louder when need be IMO.
