I bought a 1998 Dodge RAM 1500 5.9L V8 Laramie SLT Extended Cab a couple months back and I am finally in the position of wanting to get a Sub and an Amp. Ive found a deck that im going to order tomorrow http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=17996

Now im looking for a sub and an amp, my budget limit is going to be $550 US, i thought about getting a type r but then my friend told me they are really only good in a ported box, any sub recommendations? as the amp goes i was looking at these 2 as options,

Any recommendations for the amp as well? Also im sticking with my stock speakers for now since it came with the "Higher End" package for the stock audio.. thanks for the help

And if you're thinking type r, look at the image dynamics website; the idq stuff might fit your needs.
