my friend keeps buyin shit, and isnt satisfied... so he is reaching out to me and I am to you..

he has a polk audio pa880 .. it puts out 500rms @ 2ohm ...

he has a subaru wrx wagon, and doesnt wanna upgrade electric for the most part other than the big 3, so because he usually runs all kinda other lil gadgets, i think itll be ok to use this amp.. so for now were gonna try to do no amp upgrade

he wants 2 -12s.. im tryin to convince him 1 -12 or even 1 - 10 in a nice ported box will be more than ok for him.. right now he is running the amp at 4ohm (300rms) into a kenwood 12" in a sealed box (the slim mount one) .. it actually sounds better than i thought it would.. but now he wants more.. and runnin @ 2ohms into a ported box will be more than enough im sure/..

so.. im trying to convince him to go with a nice 12 or 10 in a custom ported box..

i was thinking Fi SSD, DC Level 3, DD 2500s, sundown SA-12 ... or ???? maybe even dare i say a alpine TypeR off craigslist? i hate that idea, but they do pop up here cheap LOL

any comments?

I had my 2512 on 500 watts and it did great. There's a video on YouTube but I'm at work and can't access it. It should be under DD 2512 on 500 watts. After giving it around RMS it really comes alive.

Does he want to stay with a smaller box? If not, why not go for a single 15 or 18? A single 15" or 18" Fi SSD will work well off of 500 watts in a ported box and will more than likely give him plenty of bass(for a while, at least //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif).

That's a good idea if he's got the space for one. The box size between an Fi 15 and a DD 12 are about the same.
