My dad took the keys from me then he lost them and that was the only set we have to start the car. I have the door key but no ignition key. I just went uot in my drive way and broke some of the steering colum away to see if i could stick a screw driver in the oppisute side of the key hole and start it. Is there another way i could do this i mean i have the keys i can open the hood or anything to start my car i dont feel like breaking off the lock ?

and where would i go about lookin 2havve a key made for tha specif car? is it expensive?

here is another, less-used method of hotwiring, involving some simple dissasembly rather than hacking and mucking about with wires. In this method, the cover of the steering column or a part of the dash is removed so that the key mechanism is exposed. On the opposite side of where the key is inserted should be the switch that the key activates. This can usually be removed quite simply with a screwdriver. Once it is taken out, it operates exactly like the usual keyed switch, only disengaged from the lock so you don't need a key.

I was shooting for that one when i went out there because thats how the stold my moms 1987 grandnational but and you could statr her car when they got it back on the opposite side of the key and there was a switch like u put the screw driver in and push fowards or backwords and itd work
