Hey guys,

I am new here, but I had a question. I am in need of a little advice and was wondering if someone could help. I used to own a Pontiac Sunfire with a factory installed Monsoon stereo and I had twin Jensen 10s working with a Pioneer 750 watt amp in the trunk and it sounded amazing. I just got a pontiac G6 and installed the same stuff. The new car also has the same Monsoon radio. It sounds as if it could use an EQ cause I cant seem to teak it right. However, I am lookin for the subs to hit harder like they used to in the Sunfire. I'm assuming the problem is that the car is a bit bigger. What do you suggest a higher watt amp, bigger subs, or maybe an EQ with sub control and a bit of a boost?

Thanks in advance.

Different vehicle, different resonance. And by "EQ with sub control and boost" do you mean the infamous 'bass boost knob'?

yeah i guess so? i'm much more familiar with home stereos and EQs, recording equiptment and all that. i just want my car to sound as clean and clear and hard hitting as it did before. the stereo/speakers without the bass turned up is crystal clear. i would just like the subs to have more presence without turnin the bass all the way on the stereo.

Well.. Um. Either keep what you have and build a different box for the subs or (my highly recommended option) buy a new amp and sub(s). You're not going to get very 'crystal clear' by having to crank gains and bass boosts to even hear the subs. Not to mention how long the amp/subs are going to last under such condition.

thanks for you help. i thought maybe there was a cheeper way out, but if i know that will do the trick than its worth it. the subs i have now are in a clear plexiglass enclosure, but i can barely hear them.
