im planning on a new box for my 18" BTL coming in soon (hopefully). I have the dimensions all figured out, and the volume of the box, but i was just wondering if someone could help on some final touches aswell as any tips you have as far as placement of port and all of that. also if you could draw up a design that would be cool too!
the box is going to be fit to my trunk (kinda), its is going to be my spare tire well (24x23x7 inches and ~1.5 ft^3) and it is goign to go into part of my trunk area (24x48x10 ~5.15 ft^3). now those are just some rough dimensions, they may change slightly, but as of now that is what im thinking. i want this box to have good SPL (i want to start competeing this year) but it is also going to be my daily driver. So the box is goign to be about 6.65 ft^3 before port and woofer disp.
It is goign in a 1994 Audi 100s, and the seats do not fold down, only the middle armrest in the backseat. i am goign to have to have the sub firing up (or i could invert it) becasue it is too large to fit vertically in my trunk (the height of my trunk is 18") unless if i make some sort of a wedge (trying to avoid), but i do want to utilize the spare tire compartment. I also noticed that with my old sub, it was alot louder and sounded alot better, when it was fireing towards the trunk (the sub and the port) opposed to towards the cabin of the car (the box was tuned to 32Hz if that matters).
help please? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
