Help needed with my setup

As i was home for a few weeks from college i tried to set up my sound system

Had it all wired up and working but it sounded like absolutely cr@p! :whatever:

So far i had 1 Db audio sub 1200wrms, 4ohm DVC(dont slate me for having db audio //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif )

Running from an Alpine MRD M1005 (It's only 500wrms @ 4ohm tho //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif 1000wrms @ 2ohms

Onto the comps at the front.

They are Alpine Type-S 6 3/4" 80wrms at 4ohm also

Powering these is a Sony Xplod XM-SD22X giving them 200wrms @ 4ohms

The problem is the sub is very quiet even at high volume from the HU, messing with the amp settings doesnt really make much difference until you change the Gain settings, then it just sounds awful!

Some goes with the comps. They sounded alot better when they were wired from the existing wiring from the factory speakers.

Could it be i need a better HU? Cant remember what it is but it's not too great

its a dual 4 ohm sub? How is it wired?

Its DVC 4Ohm, But i thought DVC subs had 4 connections on the subs? Mine only have 1+ and 1-

The sub is wired + to + & - to - to the amp

The components are wired from the amp to a crossover in the door builds

If its truly a DVC check your ohms if both voice coils are wired it should be either 8 ohms or 2 ohms (with 1 sub) If your multimeter shows 4 ohms of resistance then 1 of your voice coils isnt hooked up

edit: Also make sure you set your gain correctly so since you max 2 ohm watts is 1k then your voltage between the postive and negative (ac volts) should be the square root(wattsXohms) or squareroot(1000x2)=44.72v

Thanks for the help, I tested them with a multimeter a while back, It was reading 3.5

There is defiantly only one connection for + and -
