I want to eventually, change out my factory receiver, amp, speakers, sub, with my stuff I have out of my old jeep.

1) I have some nice JL 6.5'' coaxials. Will I be ok buying the 6x8 to 6.5'' adapter to fit these?

2) What will it take for me to change out the factory amp, sub, reciever to change it to my kicker 5 channel amp running my 4 channels to my 4 speakers and my last channel for my sub?

Any help is appreciated.

- Yes, you should be able to just buy an adapter.

- When you change out your head unit (i'm assuming that's what you mean by reciever), just keep the factory amp disconnected from the HU and use the HU's RCA outs to run to the kicker amp., then to the speakers

You’re trying to keep the factory radio

That radio has a pre-amp din cable out-put

If you do keep it, will need hi-powered line converters after the amplifier

May work better and be less trouble by changing the radio

Those radios and amplifiers have a history of going bad

Zierbox is correct they have a history of going bad. When mine went out, it didn't stop working. Rather, it drained my battery every two days!!! When I removed it from the dash, the battery problem stopped. Mine was listed as a 300 watts factory system, but I had NO factory amp. All the power came from the in dash, 6-disc, CD player. There was a sub, however.
