Help need a quick fix for a common prob!!

2001 Mazda 626 ES BOSE .. put a cd in now the cd function wont go on the radio stations show and the volume shows it going up but no sound, the disc in light is not on but theres a cd in it. Guy said cd prob didnt drop for some reason, he said prob a quick fix but im pressed for time. Lendin car out to friend tonight and he's paying me so I dont wanna not have the stereo working.. anyone who can link me to a website or tell me how to do it.. greatly appreciated.
