Help! Mids and subs playing at same time!

I feel like i should be in 1st grade right now! Ok, there is a switch that says HP, FULL, LP/BP what should that be set on?

if your dealing with the mids, set it to highpass, set it to around 80hz or higher

if your dealing with your subs, set it to lowpass, set it to around 80hz or lower

HP = highpass, use that one

After getting everything set right, it sounds 10.347 times better than before. Whats funny is my dad insisted on me taking it to Safe and Sound Car Audio to have them set everything for me, well, they screwed up, and charged me 15 dollars for it. Thats the last time I will take anything to them!!!
