ok, switch one of the wires around feeding the converter. You have one wired wrong. So let's change the right side, switch the wires that tap into the rear speaker. Do NOT change both sides, just one. And then let us know what happens.

Yes reverse the polarity, The signal is 180 degrees out of phase with the other side.

i am totally mind blown on this deal... i dont think that the converter would make a difference when it comes to the speakers cancelling each other out. that has to be hooked up right because the speakers are getting the signal. i checked and double checked the wires for the subs going to the amp. ive never opened the box to see if the positive lead is actually hooked to the red side or the black, it was previously professionally installed in my gfs car and worked great. do you think that could be it? i hooked the pos to red and neg to black. as i assumed that was the correct way, but everyone does things differently. idk, but i am getting aggrivated here!

if i unhook one side from the converter, the sub that is hooked up gets the power it should. same thing on either side. just not with both hooked up. wtf!?

For the third time - you have one side of the converter hooked up wrong. This is why you can't get both sides to work at the same time. One of the wires that you tapped into the rear speaker wires is backwards. Reverse this on one side (change the polarity) and you will have no more problem!

This is not a sub wiring problem. Stop thinking that it is! Please!
