Well I was driving on the freeway yesturday when all of the suden I start hearing a loud high pitch sound coming from my speakers ( Alternator wine maybe ) . So as soon as I get home I try to diagnose the problem. I check both of my amp's ground and my HU ground and I dont see anything wrong there. Anyways what's weird is that My Subwoofer plays even though I have the subwoofer off on my Stereo ( Pioneer premier 780mp ). I cant get rid of my alternator wine , I checked all connections and everything seems to be intact. WHat could be wrong ? Maybe My 4 month old HU crapped out ?????????

check the ground on the headunit? do you have an ipod or portable cd player? if so disconnect the rca's to the amps, and get a cable that converts the mini-jack to rca's and play the music through your ipod and listen for noise. if no noise you know it is in the headunit or faulty rca's

Well I dont think its my RCA cables that's for sure. But if It's my HU RCA's do I solve the problem by just buying New RCAs , since the 780mp has detachable RCAs .

The part that stills makes no sense is how my subwoofers play even though I have subwoofers off thru my HU. They are connected to the subwoofer RCAs of course.
