Help Me With Big Effin 3

soo i have a 93 thunderbird running an L7 with a 1000.1 amp. lights dim and pretty bad voltage drop. brand new batt and terminals. i need to do the big 3 to help with the V-drop. anybody in the dallas area (preferably mesquite) that can help me out? i can pay for equip and labor if necessary. none of my comps will show the pics on the thread and i dont have the tools for the job. if anyone out there can help, lemme know! thanks

93 thunderbird already should have the big 3, the only upgrade u shoudl do for it is maybe fatter wires. my 97 regal already has it so ntohin ahs to be done =D

like arse.. no way 18gauge or smaller wire counts as the big 3. i want to run 1/0 gauge on that sucka. my alt is fine.

help u with what? its really easy... Locate ur batter and alternator 1st... use string to measure distance needed from 1)Alt to Battery 2) Engine block to chassis 3) Batt NEG to Chassis... buy the needed length, buy ring terminals.. and do it yourself.. it took 20 mins in my Monte... easy

unless you have a crazy placed ALT, like my 92 cutlass had... it was a bish to get too when it crapped out

thanks megalo. yeah i know where the wires go and all. but im sure it require some soldering, and my stocker alt has wierd connections that i dont know what to do with.

i'm here. Nothing special tool-wise. Wrenches or socket set, sandpaper, tools to assemble and attach the ring terminals.

Optional would be an angle grinder, torch and solder or anvil(depending on ring type), friends.

Rip already covered the connections.

The connections are simple ALT + to BATT +, BATT - to Chassis(or frame) and Engine to same place. If you're lucky, you're alt is on top somewhere and easy to get to. I'm free tomorrow afternoon/evening if you need HELP. (I won't do it for you though and my torch is 'borrowed' by Lord Baccus)

heh, yes i do! i think your's is stock 80a or something. it will help. and you dont need to solder anything for teh big 3

dude i know this.. i was in denton all day. it was 40 or less. no bueno. im going to go to lewisville tomorrow to build a box soo.. i guess i'll see if i have time when i get home.

no dice i guess. my amp i think is clippin maybe. either that or cd is skippin. i tuned the amp for the voltage that my sub can handle. seems that i had to hit the bass boost and gains to get the voltage up there though on the 60hz tones.
