Help me w/ my Orion 2500d

It's dual 1
Oh ok, obviously wiring at .5ohms will be to much for it. Ever consider getting a 2nd one and running at 1ohm? Just set it at 58.3v at the gain with a dmm to get 1700w, id suggest posting that puppy, you dont know what your in for if you do! I take that you know how to set your gain properly right?

Well i tought you adjust the gain sorta according to what the amp will put @ certain voltages? so your saying to adjust gain shooting for 1700 even tho the car at idle is putting out 12.5 volts?

Doesnt matter what he car voltage is on, you have a 180a alt it should handle it good. Turn off everything on your HU, and put it at 3/4's volume and play a 45Hz tone and then put a DMM to your amp and set the gain until it reads 58.3c and that means its at 1700w. Car voltage doesnt matter with gain setting, the only time when it will matter is when you have MAD voltage drops due to so much power being drawn that usually would be best to turn down the gain on the amp to prevent from unver voltage frying it. Orions get cocky when they dont get aleast 11.5v but in your case you should be able to provide enough juice.

if your car idles at 12.5 volts you need to fix that. also the amp won't do 1700 at 12.5 volts so you may end up clipping it. don't be afraid to wire that amp to 0.5 ohm //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Voltage is like that at idle. As soon as the engine gets to 1200rpm, then it goes to 14.5 volt. I thought about wiring it at .5 but honestly it's loud enough for me at the moment (it shakes the crap out of my car!) plus if i really crank it up, i can't hardly breath. No joke! I guess i'll leave the gains where it's at then.

Another thing to is that i have no dimming whatsoever.
