Help me tweak the amp settings please

Hey , i just installed my new amp for my RE XXX 15. I replaced my 1200 watt Orion with a 1500 watt Ampman Revolution amp. The jump from 1200 watts to 1500 was noticeably louder. Man, 5 minutes after driving with the music on, i got pulled over by the cops for noise violation:spank:

They were cool tho and let me off with a warning. I havent gotten pulled over in 8 years for that.

I was wondering, how do i tweak the settings on the amp because it sounds loud but i have the gain at the maximum? I just want to set it up the recommended way so i have a starting point, then i'll tweak it a little for my likeing.

The knobs on the amp say "level", "15 - 40" and "50 - 250".

Where should i set these for my amp. When setting these up, i believe i heard that the music should be at 75% volume. Is that correct?

That Amp Probably Anit Big Enough. You Should Not Have To Turn You Amp Up That High Anyway. How Does The Sub Sound, I Figer I Would Distort Like A Mother With The Gain All The Way Up.

It was pretty much just a quick rigg. I dont even have the sub volume all the way up. The sub volume in the EQ. was set on 10 with a maximum of 15.

My question had more to do with the other frequency settings. "15hz - 40 hz" & "50hz - 250hz"

I think the amp might be big enough. I have that 1500 watt amp and also an Orion 2500d amp coming in the mail that i just bought. I want to see whats the best i can do with the 1500 watt amp first, and then i'll put the 2500d on it next week. I'd hope the 1500 is good enough because i can sell the 2500 and put that money to good use (hookers & beer)

alpine HU - sub out should be 15/15

subsonic (15-40) should be about 3/4 of tuning frequency

low pass (50-150) should be around 80, tune by ear

i have 22k posts from helping. and dealing with the garbage that comes back at me.

if the subwoofer output goes up to 15 i assumed it was an alpine unit.

on alpine units 15/15 is actually reference, anything lower is really attenuated.

so, when setting the gains you should put it at 15/15.

if i made a wrong assumption (not alpine unit) please disregard this statement.

and just to be clear, you didn't really do much helping so far in this thread (until the last post).
