Help me plz on fuel prob.

Ok dont laff. I have a 77 Plymouth Volare with a 318. It started running hot the other day so i changed the thermo, water pump and clean out the whole system. but when it got hot it started idling real bad like it had a huge cam in it. I messed with the carb adjustments and got it idling a bit better. When I first start it in the morning it starts fine but when it warms up after about 10 sec. it idles rough and then stalls. It stalls untill the motor warms up then it just idles like that. I am thinking a few things. The carb is old and was hesitating before this so I may replace it, the choke coil may have overheated and expanded, its also electric assisted, or my piston compression went down a bit on a cylinder from it overheating. Plz give me a few suggestions on what else it could be. Thanks
