I got a problem. A fairly hard one. I get nothing but static on the radio in my car. I do have a pair of subs and an amp and 4 awg wiring in the car as well.

Now i know what the problem is. It's the power wire for the amp. Its running through the firewall about 2 in from the antennae cable and all the 12 V power going through it is causing noise in the cable. I know this because i took out the fuse and tried the radio.

So what can i do? It's either Subs and no radio or Sat radio OR no subs and radio/ Sat radio.... And i have tried to place the wire somewhere else in the car, i cant put it on the drivers' side because there is no room.

HELP??

your way off on helpful and nice but ill try

what exactly is the problem i couldnt understand what you were asking in the 1st post. what i got it as the power wire is inducing static into your antenna for am/fm radio correct?

i would run my power wire somewhere else thatshould solve the problem

And as i said before, there is no other place to put the wire. I've tried to put it on the drivers' side instead of the passenger side but there is no way to get in there.

And yes that is exactly the problem.

just make your own grommet for it to run the 4awg to run through the fire wall that's what i would do //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

how in the world did you get into the drivers' side. i cant for the life of me get in there. i even take out the battery and airbox and i cant get enough space to drill in there. So did you drill from the interior of the car?

I have the same car and there is room for not one but two runs of 1/0 cable on the drivers side. Take out the battery and airbox. Take out interior trim panels under the dash on the driver's side. Take out the driver's seat as well to give you some room to work (you'll thank me for that). Unmount the OBD port to get it out of the way. Look up from under the dash in the very upper corner of the firewall you will see a large factory wiring loom. This bundle goes through the firewall in a grommet about 5x the size of the bundle. You can poke a hole in the grommet towards the center of the car and fish the power wire through it with minimal trouble. Like I said I got 2x 1/0 cable through there. From there you can run it down the driver's side of the car. There is a gap under the carpet right along the sill all the way down the side of the car. No lump in the carpet from the wire.
