HELP ME!!!! Plz im on the verge of tears here

Well i ran that wire on the drivers' side tonight. THE F*$#% RADIO STILL DOESNT GET ANY SIGNAL AT ALL. Wtf is wrong? i dont get it. I know its the wire somehow because when i take out the fuse i get radio signal. Any other ideas?

The antenna plug into the HU loose? I had a similar problem with an old system a few years back. Such a simple thing... I was about ready to punch a hole in the garage door.

why are you so certain it is the power wire? you moved it, and it didn't change anything. it might be a wrong connection somewhere. all you know is that it only happens when the amp is on, not necessarily a problem with the power wire.

and it sounds fine listening to a CD right, just the radio is staticy?

Probably something internal in the HU involving the amp and radio, that's honestly pretty weird, it may be a lot of work but try swapping out the HU with another?

I actually have my own separate HU for things like this XD

what amp do you have? Class-T amps have been known to interfere with FM reception.
class T? dont wanna thread jack but link to wtf class T amps are??//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/graduate.gif.d982460be9f153bb54e5d4cb744f6ae8.gif

also yea check ur headunit antenna connection thats prob what it is..if not just make CDs the radio sucks:)

Class-T isn't REALLY a class, it is a trademark of Tripath, full-range digital amps. avionixx, crystal, zapco, alpine and others have used them. Some of the amps had issues with FM reception, some do not.

thank you...

They're not digital amps. No amps are digital. They are a switchmode amp that uses a Tripath chip to control switching frequency and vary it according to the freqs being played. Lower freqs use a lower switching freq and are more efficient at the cost of linearity and higher freqs are more linear but not as efficient.

ok. I'll check the antennae in the back of the HU. and yes the amp and subs work. Well. Very well. Switching it with another HU would be expensive and time consuming so thats out. And i have a Hifonics BX1606D amp. Thanks guys
