I want to get a new SUV and have no idea what's good and what's not.

Some few things to keep in mind are...

-can't be too big, I don't need to be driving a school bus to work every day.

-must be "bass-friendly" (able to fit a good size box, and aftermarket support for H/O alts, etc.)

-can't be tool old either

-looking to be ~$15,000 or less

Thanks!

I guess I should also mention, I want to be able to add the "wow" factor down the road... maybe rims, drop, murdered out, etc. Can't do that on a CRV or Element haha. I've been looking at Tahoes and a few jeeps.

Explorers are always a common choice and get loud pretty easily, older ones more so than newer ones. Trailblazers are in that same size category or even a Honda Pilot, Grand Cherokee are great SUVs also.

Just go to a few local dealers and test drive sum out. If it was me i'd grab a Grand Cherokee w/ the 5.7L V8.

Yukon Denali, Escalade, Grand Cherokee, Tahoe, Expedition.. explorers are junk and honda suvs are lame. Trailsblazers and Envoys I can't stand, feel like a car more then a truck...

for 15 grand, you can get a **** near brand new explorer, maybe a year or two old

you might want to look into chevy too, since GM is going down the drain. They will have some killer prices out shortly, if not already.

from that post it is clear to me your experience with them is limited. feels nothing like a "car."

i've owned an explorer, and it was slow and alright. then the trailblazer which was quick and comfortable.

with that being said i've also driven smaller vehicles and none of them would even be remotely comparable to a trailblazer...?

honestly my trailblazer drives almost the same as my mom's old tahoe which i learned to drive in.
