Help me pick the best amp configuration

Hello,

These are very amature questions I'm sure but I could use some help deciding which route would be better for a XD700/5.

Amp Ratings (I'm assuming my 08 Nissan Sentra isn't putting out 14.4 V so I picked the 12.5 V ratings):

  • Main Channels @ 4 Ω - 60 W RMS x 4
  • Main Channels Bridged @ 4Ω - 180 W RMS x 2

Speakers:

  • Midbass/mid (CDT CL-69) is rated 100 watts rms.
  • Tweeter (vifa ne25vtc-04) is rated 80 watts rms.

Choices:

  • Route 1 - Active setup with midbass and tweeter. Seems like the midbass would be needing more power?
  • Route 2 - Buy a crossover and run both main channels bridged. How would the power be dispersed between the two speakers? Seems like the tweeter would be overloaded. Maybe I would need a higher RMS rated tweeter?
  • Route 3+ - ???

Thanks for your help.

You would probably be better with an amp around 100x 4....

but 1&2 will work.

With #1 you will need an active crossover for the crossover points.then you can use the amp gain to match the output of the mid/tweet.

#2 .You will need a passive crossover...most have a way to turn down the tweeter.the passive with split the 2 frequencies. So you have highs to the tweet and lows to the mid.
